Organisational Traumatic Incidents

Organisational trauma is usually by its nature rare and unexpected. Trauma comes from the Greek word which means ‘pierce’. A traumatic incident can pierce the psychological defences of employees and organisations resulting in high levels of distress, anxiety and disorientations.

At Momentum OC we have the experience and expertise to work with your organisation and assist you negotiate and recover in a lasting way from traumatic incidents.

We at Momentum will work alongside you to provide effective psychological help, information and support whilst you have to deal with operational, legal, health and safety psychological demands of responding professionally to all levels of the incident as it unfolds and develops. Our Consultant are qualified and experienced in delivering clinically effective trauma interventions and therapies fit for the 21st century. Our Consultants are qualified in National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE) approved trauma therapies such as EMDR.

Managers and Leaders: we especially appreciate the multiple responsibilities and stresses leader and managers face when dealing with traumatic events such as keeping the operation running whilst liaising with the Health & Safety Executive, the emergency services and other key stakeholders. We will make it a priority to ensure that managers and leaders are provided with effective guidance, information and support.

We provided holistic interventions tailored to your organisation and the specifics of the incidents. We do not apply a ‘one size fits all approach’. For individuals or groups we may utilise a combination of psychological first aid, defusing, debriefing, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as well as information on reactions, and recovery strategies.
